The City Council of Herencia held its regular session for the month of September on Thursday, September 14, focusing on the budgetary modification and the approval of the General Account for the 2022 fiscal year.
The session, which began with the ratification of the minutes of the previous session, addressed as its second point the creation and composition of the Municipal Boundary Commission. This commission aims to provide geometric accuracy to the common boundary between the towns of Herencia, Villarrubia de los Ojos, Madridejos, and Camuñas. It will consist of the mayor, three councilors, the municipal secretary, and the rural guard.
By unanimous decision, the appointment of councilwoman Mª Eugenia Díaz-Pacheco Galán as representative in the Communities of Users/Irrigators of Groundwater was approved.
An essential topic of discussion was the modification to the R.P.T., specifically regarding the job position of Local Police secondary activity. This decision responds to the current demand: there are two requests for transfer to secondary activity, but only one position exists. With this change, a position has been established in general offices and another in Intervention/Treasury/Personnel.
Regarding municipal finances, the first budget modification of 2023 was presented, primarily aimed at covering energy costs. This modification will allow, among other things, to guarantee the fuel supply to municipal buildings and schools, renovate the irrigation telematics system, and acquire a new vehicle for the Local Police.
Finally, the General Account for the 2022 fiscal year received approval. It has been fully justified and submitted to the General Court of Auditors.
At the end of the session, Mayor Sergio García-Navas reported on recent matters of interest, highlighting the final approval of a grant for the rehabilitation of the “casa de los frailes” building, which will be transformed into an inn. In addition, in the framework of the preparations for the Fair, García-Navas met with Blanca Fernández, the delegate of the regional government, to discuss ongoing projects and their future processing.
On the other hand, with the end of the municipal swimming pool season, registrations for the Popular University, Sports Schools, and Aula Mentor have started. This week, with the start of the school year, no incidents were reported, a fact confirmed in the recent School Council meeting.
