During the last days of February and the beginning of March, the brotherhood of Jesus of Medinaceli and Virgin of the Assumption of Herencia (Ciudad Real), has prepared a series of events in collaboration with the parish of the town for Lent and the celebration of its titular feast.
Activities of the brotherhood of Jesus of Medinaceli
- February 25-29. Five-day devotion in the parish of the Immaculate Conception. Daily recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m., celebration of Holy Mass.
- March 1. Celebration of the Main Function and Stations of the Cross. These events, which will take place at the parish of the Immaculate Conception, will begin with the recitation of the rosary at 6:30 p.m. At 7:00 p.m., Holy Mass will be celebrated and at 7:45 p.m. the traditional Stations of the Cross will take place with the presence of the image of Our Father Jesus of Medinaceli from the parish to the hermitage of Our Lady of the Assumption, “La Labradora.” After the Stations of the Cross, the traditional and devout kissing of the feet will take place in the hermitage.
- March 2. For the first time, an act of the brotherhood of Jesus of Medinaceli will be held in the hermitage. It will start at 8:00 p.m. under the title “At the Feet of the Captive. Medinaceli.” It will be presented by Manuel Antonio González-Ortega (vice president of the brotherhood of Jesus of Medinaceli) and during the event, the Easter poster of the penitential procession 2024 of the brotherhood that will take place on Holy Thursday will be presented. At the end of the event, chocolate and cakes will be served to all attendees.
