The windmills of Herencia will be illuminated in green to commemorate the International Day of Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, with the goal of raising awareness about this rare genetic disorder that affects cognitive and psychomotor development, as well as speech abilities.
This initiative aims to sensitize and educate the public about the early detection of this rare genetic disorder.
Additionally, the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Association has organized the Run Like Hero event in Herencia, with the goal of uniting participants for a single cause: to raise visibility for people affected by Phelan-McDermid Syndrome and to promote understanding of this rare disease. This event, which takes place on Sunday, October 23, will include both a virtual and in-person component near the municipal pavilion.
