Herencia is getting ready for the Fifth edition of the Heritage Night.

Next Saturday, September 2, the municipality of Herencia will be the setting for one of its most emblematic events: theVth edition of the Night of Heritage. An event that was born with the aim of highlighting and promoting the most hidden and significant places in the town.

Originating from the Tourism and Heritage area, this annual event aims to discover those spaces that often go unnoticed by locals and visitors, and that house stories and traditions that define Herencia. In addition, this year, the night promises to be even more special, as it will feature different artistic performances that will revive the selected spaces.

The tour will start in the Luis Martínez-Calcerrada square, popularly known as “Anchurón de Rada”, which has recently undergone an urban transformation to enhance its pedestrian use. It will be here where a fascinating fire show will open the night, serving as the prelude to the visit of a wood-fired oven from the old bakery on Hermógenes Rodríguez street, a reminder of the town’s deep baking tradition.

The route will continue towards the paintings of the Sagrario Chapel of the Immaculate Conception Parish. A setting that will come to life thanks to the Santa Cecilia Musical Group, whose chords will perfectly complement the baroque style of the murals. Afterwards, attendees will be able to immerse themselves in a theatrical visit to the former Cloister of the residential house of the Mercedarian fathers, a building that will soon have a new purpose thanks to its recent acquisition by the City Council.

The grand finale will take place in the Plaza de la Virgen. Here, the Cultural Association “La partida de Camuñas” will bring a fragment of local history back to life, representing an episode set during the Napoleonic invasion.

Those interested in being part of this experience can purchase tickets through the AyMo application for a cost of €4, with a limit of four per individual. Sales will start at 9 am on Tuesday, August 16. For those who have difficulties with technology, the Digital Inclusion Point at the Municipal Library will be available for assistance.

María Eugenia Díaz-Pacheco Galán, Councilor for Tourism and Heritage, has expressed her enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the importance of these types of initiatives for the preservation of Herencia’s heritage. Undoubtedly, the Night of Heritage is a unique opportunity to rediscover Herencia and appreciate its rich history and tradition.
