On December 31st, Herencia will dress in sports party attire to bid farewell to the year with its traditional San Silvestre Herenciana. This event, which is part of the 2023 Christmas sports program, is organized by the Cultural Association Jarra y Pedal in collaboration with the Municipal Sports Service of the City Council.
In this edition, the race will not only be a meeting for sports enthusiasts and the community in general, but also an opportunity to collaborate with a charitable cause. All proceeds from the event will be donated to AFANION, the Association of Families of Children with Cancer, through the initiative of Las Supernenas.
The event will start with the children’s category at 11:30 a.m., followed by the 5 km race for adults starting at 12:00 p.m. The starting and finishing point will be the emblematic Plaza de España, turning the heart of Herencia into the epicenter of this festive competition.
Registrations to participate in the San Silvestre Herenciana will begin on Monday, December 4th and can be done at the establishments indicated in the event poster. In addition to the sports competition, creativity and originality of the participants will be rewarded with a prize for the most original costume.
This is an excellent opportunity for the people of Herencia to come together in a day of sports, fun, and solidarity, demonstrating the community spirit and social commitment of the locality. The San Silvestre Herenciana promises to be a joyful end to the year and good intentions for the new year ahead.
