The City Council of Herencia has carried out the constitution of the 5th Edition of the Neighborhood Council on Thursday, March 9th. Ten residents, chosen by lottery, face the task of deciding the destination of the 40,000 euros of participatory budgets.
This initiative aims to offer an opportunity for citizens to propose, vote, or choose sustainable investments to which the allocated resources during the budgeted year are dedicated. With the presence of Mayor Sergio García Navas and Councilor Conchi Rodríguez Palancas for citizen participation, the constitution of the council was a success, and the commitment of the residents was appreciated.
The supervision of the Secretariat of the City Council was also of great importance for the constitution of the council. Once the table is established, another session will be held to present proposals. Later, in a final session, it will be decided which proposals will be carried out with the budget allocated for this year.
It is important to highlight that citizen participation in the management of public resources is a fundamental tool for the creation of a more democratic and fair municipality. With initiatives like this, the Herencia City Council seeks to strengthen citizen participation and ensure that resources are invested in the most important projects for the community.
