Next Sunday, July 30th, the Plaza de la Virgen in Herencia will become the setting for a charity concert organized by the Mercedarian Fathers and supported by the local government. The event, which will begin at 9:30pm, aims to raise funds for the mission that the Mercedarian Fathers carry out in Santo Domingo, specifically for the Chichigua Choir project.
The Chichigua Choir is a children’s choir from the Dominican Republic, led by Father Santi, a Mercedarian from our town. Through music, these boys and girls find a form of expression and personal growth, turning singing into a tool for empowerment and social change.
The music for the concert will be performed by the Veteranos group, a well-known local ensemble that will delight us with versions of songs from different styles and eras. With their talent and experience, the Veteranos will offer us a night of music and entertainment, all for a good cause.
Admission to the concert is free and during the event, donations can be made, which will be entirely allocated to the Chichigua Choir project. This way, all attendees will have the opportunity to contribute to this work of solidarity and love that the Mercedarian Fathers carry out in Santo Domingo.
