New Workshops at the Women’s Center: Promoting secure attachment and infant development.

The Women’s Center has announced the organization of a series of workshops aimed at young mothers and expectant mothers, focused on attachment and child development. These workshops, which will also address the intergenerational transmission of attachment and how to promote secure attachment with their children, will take place between July 23rd and August 8th. Sessions will be held twice a week, from 10:00 to 11:30 in the morning.

Encouraging Secure Attachment and Child Development

Secure attachment is essential for the healthy development of babies and young children. It refers to a strong and reliable emotional bond between the child and their primary caregivers, which provides a solid foundation for the child’s emotional, social, and cognitive development. Secure attachment helps children feel safe and confident to explore the world around them, promotes resilience, and establishes a pattern for future healthy relationships.

During the early years of life, a baby’s brain develops rapidly and is highly influenced by interactions with their caregivers. Mothers and fathers can promote secure attachment by responding consistently and sensitively to their baby’s needs, offering comfort, support, and stimulation. This type of attention helps children develop a sense of security and trust in their relationships and themselves.

Workshop Details
