Today, the inauguration of the new pistachio drying facility of RAGONOR has taken place, a project that promises to boost the local economy and promote sustainable agricultural practices in Herencia. The event was attended by the Mayor of Herencia, Sergio Navas, who emphasized the importance of this initiative for the rural development of the area.
Accompanied by Mª Eugenia Díaz-Pacheco, Councilor of Rural Development, and José Manuel Aragonés, Councilor of the Environment, Mayor Navas expressed his enthusiasm for the opening of this facility, which will not only benefit local farmers but also contribute to environmental preservation.
According to Antonio Ramirez, president of RAGONOR, “the drying facility is designed with cutting-edge technology that optimizes the pistachio drying process, ensuring the quality of the final product and reducing energy consumption. This innovative approach not only enhances the competitiveness of farmers in the region but also aligns with the sustainability goals promoted by the Herencia City Council.”
RAGONOR has over 50 years of experience in the agricultural sector and cultivates various organic crops such as olive groves, vineyards, almond trees, and pistachios.
Their plantations are located in the heart of La Mancha, a privileged area.
