Last night, Thursday, July 6, Onda Cero Alcázar held the presentation of its Corazón de la Mancha Awards in a gala highlighted by significant recognitions. On this occasion, ‘Quhesalia’ received the Corazón de la Mancha Award in the Regional scope, a recognition that celebrates the exceptional work of this project in the promotion and dissemination of an internationally renowned agri-food product (‘Quhesalia’ awarded the Corazón de la Mancha Award in the Regional scope).
‘Quhesalia’ is more than a product, it is the personification of a tradition and a craft that has left a remarkable mark on the idiosyncrasy of the locality. Therefore, this recognition celebrates both the entity ‘Quhesalia’ and the community that supports it.
The gala took place in the Mabel Gardens in Alcázar de San Juan, the venue that hosted the thirtieth edition of these prestigious awards. The ceremony was attended by authorities, businessmen from the region, representatives of groups and associations, media and numerous guests.
Among the attendees were the mayor of the town, Sergio García-Navas, councilors Conchi Rodríguez-Palancas and Mª Eugenia Díaz-Pacheco, and two key figures in the success of ‘Quhesalia’: Claro Manuel Fernández-Caballero and Juan Francisco Prado, who have managed the opening and have welcomed hundreds of visitors in the past two years.
‘Quhesalia’, which today celebrates exactly two years since its inception, has become a museum that attracts visitors from all over the world, eager to learn about the centuries-old tradition of a town and its exceptional cheese making.
Mayor García-Navas wanted to extend this award to the cheese factories and shepherds who have contributed to making ‘Quhesalia’ a reality and a tourist attraction for Herencia. With this recognition, the importance of ‘Quhesalia’ is confirmed not only as an entity, but also as a symbol of the rich tradition and heritage of the town.
