The Popular University, supported by the Herencia City Council, has unveiled its ambitious educational and entertainment plan for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year, reaffirming its commitment to education and the integral development of the town’s residents, regardless of their age.
This year, the University celebrates its 36th edition, a number that demonstrates the effort and dedication with which the City Council has supported this initiative for over three decades. This year’s program not only maintains its essence, but also introduces new additions that aim to respond to the current demands and needs of the community.
In addition to the already established workshops in areas such as crafts, traditions, languages, performing and visual arts, and personal development programs, this course stands out for the incorporation of Sewing and Creative Writing workshops, which, given their high demand, have extended their duration. The Scrapbooking workshop is also added, especially designed for the youth population, reflecting the adaptability of the Popular University to emerging interests.
Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana, councilor in charge of the program, stated: “We have worked on a varied and high-quality program, aiming to cover all sectors of the population. Our goal is for both young people and adults to continue discovering and enhancing new skills with the guidance of experts in each field.”
Registrations will be open from September 4th. Interested individuals can do so through the “AyMo” application or, if they prefer, in person at the Casa de Cultura, where assistance will be provided from 10am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8pm.
This announcement clearly demonstrates Herencia’s constant commitment to continuous education and the use of free time in constructive activities, showing that education and personal development have no age limit.
