The Herencia City Council has carried out various improvements to the Municipal Auditorium through the European Funds from the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan under the “Next Generation EU” funds.
The grant was aimed at modernizing and sustainably managing performing arts and music infrastructures. To achieve this, the analog audio and sound systems have been replaced with high-performance digital, wireless systems. The analog lighting control systems have also been replaced by digital ones with better features and possibilities, and a large number of 1000-2500 W power lights have been replaced by LED technology.
Among the improvements is also the new digital video system with state-of-the-art projector, remote cameras, and equipment for streaming, and as announced a few weeks ago, the installation of a magnetic loop amplifier that allows full participation of people with hearing deficits in any location of the stalls.
The Mayor of Herencia, Sergio García-Navas, is very satisfied with this grant, thanks to the effort and work of the different areas involved. These funds, “are a new opportunity to continue progressing as a municipality and to offer a more modern and sustainable Herencia,” he said.
The total amount of the investment was €101,864.84, of which €62,243.37 comes from these grants, which aim to minimize the impact of the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 and accelerate economic reactivation in the cultural sector, as well as saving electricity and maintenance costs of the facilities while making them more sustainable and efficient.
