The users of the Herencia Elderly Center had the opportunity to enjoy a memorable day at the Puy Du Fou theme park located in Toledo, Spain. This destination, known for its unique combination of history and nature, proved to be the perfect place for an excursion full of entertainment and learning.
The initiative, highly requested by the users, was organized by the Elderly Center and had a successful turnout. Attendees had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of Spain through the different performances and shows offered by Puy Du Fou.
The Minister of Social Welfare of Herencia, Conchi Rodríguez-Palancas accompanied the participants on this excursion. The councilor expressed her satisfaction with the success of the initiative and the positive response from the Elderly Center users, who enjoyed a day full of excitement and culture.
This excursion to Puy Du Fou is another example of the commitment of the Elderly Center and the Herencia municipality to offer activities that contribute to the well-being and personal and cultural development of older adults in the community.
Puy Du Fou Spain is a theme park located in Toledo, offering a journey through Spanish history. Opened in March 2021, and directed by Erwan de la Villéon, this park is part of the French group Puy Du Fou. The park consists of five daytime shows and four historical villages.
Among the shows are “A Pluma y Espada,” an adventure around Lope de Vega; “El Último Cantar,” which tells the story of Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, the famous Cid Campeador; and “Cetrería de Reyes,” an aerial joust with hundreds of birds of prey.
The historical villages include El Arrabal, a medieval market; La Puebla Real, a village from the 13th century; La Venta de Isidro, an 18th-century farm; and El Askar Andalusí, a Moorish camp that houses artisans and restaurants.
Puy Du Fou Spain is a reference in tourism and culture that allows its visitors to travel through time and experience the history of Spain up close through impressive shows and complete immersion in various historical periods.
