Fernández highlights Page’s achievements and advocates for further progress in Castilla-La Mancha.

Blanca Fernández, Equality Advisor and Spokesperson for the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, emphasized on Thursday the achievements of President Emiliano García-Page in the region, but also emphasized that there is still work to be done. “Page has reduced unemployment, school dropout rates, and strengthened public services…But we are not satisfied, we must continue to advance,” said Fernández.

Fernández spoke at a public event in Herencia along with the socialist incumbent mayor, Sergio García-Navas. There, she detailed the key policies that Page has implemented since taking office, which seek to reverse the damage caused during the previous administration of the Popular Party and ensure continuous development for the region. She also highlighted future commitments already announced for the next term.

The candidate for the regional parliament emphasized that thanks to Page’s policies, 130,000 jobs have been generated in Castilla-La Mancha, making it the Autonomous Community that has reduced unemployment the most in Spain. However, she stated that they are not satisfied with these achievements. “In the next four years, we already have planned measures to generate an additional 100,000 jobs,” she said.

In the area of health, Fernández highlighted the hiring of 13,000 healthcare professionals since Page took office and announced the intention to launch a public offer of employment for 5,000 additional positions. The goal is to ensure compliance with the waiting time law, to further reduce waiting lists, which have already been reduced below the national average despite the pandemic.

In addition, she emphasized Page’s commitment to implementing the most advanced Comprehensive Cancer Plan in Spain. This plan seeks to equalize cancer patient care in all provinces, allowing for faster and less invasive diagnosis and treatment.

In the area of education, she highlighted the reduction of the early school dropout rate by half, thanks to the measures adopted by Page, such as hiring an additional 6,000 teachers, investing 300 million euros in inclusive education policies, and the recovery of school lunch scholarships.

Fernández also stressed Page’s commitment to the dependency system, which currently serves twice as many people as in 2015 and has significantly improved its management.

Finally, Fernández urged the public to vote, warning of the danger of a PP government alongside the radicalism of Vox.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Herencia and socialist candidate for re-election, Sergio García-Navas, highlighted the campaign based on “work, closeness, and honesty” and presented some of the more than 150 measures that make up the PSOE electoral program of Herencia. Among the measures, he highlighted the construction of a new Health Center and the launch of a Hospice.

García-Navas emphasized the importance of coordination with the Ciudad Real County Council and the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha to implement these measures. The proposals are aimed at improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of Herencia and promoting the development of the locality.

García-Navas defended that the PSOE is the party that truly bets on the future and quality of life in towns. To achieve this, he emphasized, the collaboration of the Regional Government and the Country Council is necessary. “Our goal is not only to keep citizens in Herencia, but to attract more people to get to know and fall in love with our town,” concluded the mayor.
