Last Thursday, Herencia was buzzing with the XI Ntra. Sra. de la Soledad Football-8 Tournament. This event brought together the best youth academies from the region and some of the most outstanding ones from outside the community. Throughout the day, the stands of the J. María Fdez. de la Puebla stadium were filled with fans who enjoyed every minute of the tournament.
First and foremost, it is important to thank all the teams and their families who accompanied and cheered throughout the day, filling the stands of the football field with color and a good atmosphere. The winners of the benjamin and alevin categories were announced in a final ceremony attended by Sergio García-Navas, the town’s mayor, Jose Manuel Bolaños, Conchi Rodríguez Palancas, and Francisco Gallego, municipal councilors, and Luis García-Morato, Head of Sports Service of the Junta. In addition, coaches from the local football school and members of the El Santo and Herencia CF boards attended.
In the benjamin category, Real Madrid CF took first place, followed by Getafe CF and SMD Herencia. On the other hand, in the alevin category, the winners were EMF San Clemente, Getafe CF, and CD Toledo.
The joint effort of the Hermandad de El Santo and Herencia CF in organizing this event, as well as that of all the companies that contributed to making a tournament of this magnitude possible, cannot be forgotten. Likewise, the work of the monitors and students of the local sports school and of the rest of the people who collaborate year after year, has made this date already a reference in the region.
During the day’s celebration, some very special visits were made to the facilities of J. María Fdez. de la Puebla. In addition, it is worth highlighting the presence of the Local Police, Red Cross, and Civil Protection, who ensured safety throughout the event.
