In addition to the exhibition opening, the inauguration also served as the occasion for the award ceremony of the contest. This year, several local artists were recognized for their remarkable talent and vision:

  • ? First prize: Pablo García-Miguel, for his work “La Recogida del Azafrán no tiene Edad” (Saffron Harvest Has No Age), a deeply human portrait connected to one of the town’s most rooted traditions.
  • ? Second prize: Pilar Mora Ramírez, for “Abrazando la Llanura” (Embracing the Plain), an image that captures the serenity and expansiveness of Herencia’s natural landscape.
  • ? Third prize: Jesús Camborda León, for “Noche de Velas. El Encanto Iluminado de la Calle” (Night of Candles. The Illuminated Charm of the Street), a photograph that showcases the magic and charm of Herencia during a night illuminated by candles.

The event organizers would like to express their warm appreciation to all the participants who have contributed to creating a diverse and enriching visual narrative of Herencia with their submissions. “Congratulations and thank you to everyone for participating!” exclaimed the organizing team, celebrating the high participation and quality of the entries in this edition.

Undoubtedly, this contest and its associated exhibition are becoming an important event in Herencia’s cultural calendar, reflecting the commitment of its residents to the promotion and appreciation of their environment and culture. It is a clear example of how art and community can walk hand in hand in celebrating and preserving local identity.
