Herencia celebrates the 40th anniversary of the ‘Jesús Madero’ National Painting Contest with its awarded artists.

The renowned National Painting Competition ‘Jesús Madero’, which takes place in Herencia, Ciudad Real, has announced the winners of its fortieth edition. This year, the competition had the remarkable participation of 59 works, with 13 of them being locally produced.

The ‘Ayuntamiento Prize’ has been awarded to “Camino a la Sierra”, a masterpiece by Diego López González. Meanwhile, the ‘Diputación Prize’ recognized the piece “Monologue” by artist Kihony Chung. Ramón Córdoba Calderón has been awarded the ‘Tecnove Prize’ for his painting “Paseo del Prado”. And local talent has shined with the distinction of the ‘Local Ayuntamiento Prize’ for “Caño” by Manuel Martín-Fontedra Corrales.

Art lovers will have the opportunity to appreciate all these works and many more in the ‘Agustín Úbeda’ Exhibition Hall, where an exhibition will be open to the public until October 1st. In addition, the works will be available for sale for those who wish to take home a piece from this emblematic competition.
