Educating the young people of Herencia in circular economy

Within the framework of consumer activities in the 2030 Agenda, an innovative course on Sustainable Soap Making is being launched. This initiative is aimed at a group of 60 students from IES Hermógenes Rodríguez and has been conceived thanks to the collaboration between the City Council and the Biology and Physics and Chemistry departments of the institute.

The main objective of this course is to offer young people in Herencia a deep understanding of the circular economy and sustainability. Through the creation of ecological soaps, it is hoped to instill the importance of sustainability and how daily practices can align with responsible and environmentally-friendly consumption.

The course is structured in two distinct stages, each led by an expert in their respective field. The first part will be led by Ingrid Palica, a renowned expert in Natural Cosmetics. Through her teachings, students will be able to understand the benefits and methodology behind the sustainable production of cosmetic products.

The second part of the course will be taught by Carmen Molina, a specialist in consumption. Her experience will provide a critical and practical insight into how consumption decisions impact our environment and how we can make more informed and sustainable choices.

This initiative is not only an educational opportunity for students, but also reflects the commitment of the City Council and local educational institutions to promote a sustainable and responsible mindset among the younger generations of Herencia. Undoubtedly, it is a positive step towards a greener and more conscious future.
