Inheritance is getting ready for the X Agriculture and Livestock Conference.

From October 24th to 27th, the town of Herencia will become the epicenter of agriculture and livestock, celebrating the tenth edition of the Agriculture and Livestock Conference, an event that has established itself as an undisputed reference for the agri-food sector.

These conferences are the result of the joint work of the Rural Development Department and the Local Agricultural Council, also counting on the support and sponsorship of various agri-food companies and the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. Four sessions have been designed focusing on the most relevant and current issues in the sector, complemented by tastings that enhance the flavor and quality of local products.

The opening, scheduled for Tuesday 24th, will be led by Julián Martínez Lizán, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development of the Castilla-La Mancha Regional Government. Accompanied by Mayor Sergio García-Navas and Rural Development Councilor Mª Eugenia Díaz-Pacheco Galán, a week of meetings will begin where attendees will have the opportunity to dialogue and learn from renowned professionals in the sector at different levels: local, regional, and national.

The topics to be addressed are of great importance: from the imperative need to secure farms, to the market for Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), to the history and commercialization of pistachios in the region, not forgetting the current situation of wine production and the impact of climate change on the agricultural and livestock world.

At the end of each day, attendees will be able to enjoy tastings of typical products, thanks to the active participation of representatives from the local food industry. In addition, thinking of the youngest, raffles and drawing contests have been organized.

Mª Eugenia Díaz-Pacheco Galán, councilor of the area, has highlighted the importance of these conferences, emphasizing the relevance of the topics addressed and the high specialization of the speakers. In her words, this meeting is essential to “analyze and revitalize the situation of the sector.” She also emphasized the need to value the work of professionals who contribute to the tastings every day, offering the best of the land.
