Herencia pays tribute to rural women with an unforgettable regional event.

In an event filled with emotion and recognition, the Municipal Auditorium of Herencia became the stage for the regional event of Rural Women on Thursday, October 26th. This celebration was attended by distinguished public figures, including Sara Simón, Minister of Equality, Blanca Fernández, Delegate of the Regional Government, and Lourdes Luna, Director of the Institute for Women. Mayors, councillors from the region, and members of the Municipal Corporation of Herencia were also present.

The purpose of the event was to highlight and make visible the essence and unwavering contribution of women who, from our towns, have forged a path of perseverance and effort, whose fruits are reflected in the new generations. This meeting also aimed to be a window to value and reflect on the essential role of women in rural environments.

The Ministry of Equality, as a gesture of gratitude and recognition, awarded two women who, through their lives and work, represent the strength and determination of the rural area in Herencia. Gabriela Fernández-Paniagua and Eusebia Sánchez were the well-deserved honorees of the night, thus celebrating their outstanding life trajectories.

The event was filled with special and emotional moments, such as the musical performance by Laura Abengoza and Angelito that captivated all attendees. In addition, the attendees had the opportunity to visit the “Agustín Úbeda” Exhibition Hall, where the moving exhibition “Art and Pain” was presented.

After these activities, the Municipal Park was prepared to welcome the awardees and the more than 400 attendees to a popular meal, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and communion among those present.

The highlight of the day was the theatrical performance “Gracias Clara Campoamor”, which took place at the Auditorium at 17:15, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all attendees.

Without a doubt, this regional event of Rural Women in Herencia has made it clear the commitment of the locality to the empowerment and recognition of women, true pillars of our rural communities.
