The long-awaited Responsible Plan returns this Christmas, an active response to support work-life balance during the school holiday period. Promoted by the Women’s Center of Herencia, in collaboration with the Institute of Women of Castilla-La Mancha and funded by the Ministry of Equality, this program seeks to alleviate the burden on working parents.
“For the third consecutive year, we are launching the ‘Conciliatory Christmas’. Our objective is to restructure the distribution of tasks and care during these two festive weeks,” mentioned Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana, Councilor of Equality.
The initiative, which will take place from December 26th to January 5th, between 9 am and 2 pm, will provide spaces in the Infant School and the Youth Center. Here, children aged 3 to 12 can immerse themselves in a world of fun and learning, with specialized care, workshops, and thematic activities adapted to their ages.
These proposals arise as a solution to the difficulties that many families face during the holidays, especially single-parent families or families where both parents work. The program emphasizes the municipal commitment to gender equality, ensuring that both men and women have equal opportunities in personal and professional spheres.
Registrations are open from next Monday, November 6th, at the Youth Center. Here, interested families can submit the application and corresponding documentation. Additionally, the center provides detailed information about the program for those who wish to learn more.
With initiatives like the Responsible Plan, Herencia takes a firm step towards creating a more inclusive and equitable community, where the care of children and the career aspirations of parents can coexist harmoniously during these festivities.
