Huge success on the Heritage Courtyard Route

Herencia celebrated a special day with the highly anticipated Route of the Courtyards, an activity that captured the attention of both tourists and local residents, selling out all available tickets within the first hour of being released. This high demand highlights the growing interest in exploring and appreciating the rich heritage of the town.

The route was divided into two different itineraries, each offering a unique perspective of the history and architecture of Herencia. The first allowed visitors to explore the historic courtyards located on Colón 3 Street, dating back to 1624, and on Carrasco Alcalde 13 Street, from the 18th century, ending at the charming courtyard on Tahona 8 Street, from the 1920s.

The second route was equally impressive, starting at the courtyard of the Casa de la Merced, a future inn, built in 1648, followed by the one on Colón 48 Street from the 19th century, and ending at Lope de Vega 26 Street, dating back to 1910.

This event not only proved to be an excellent opportunity for visitors to discover Herencia’s hidden treasures but also reaffirmed the importance of preserving and promoting cultural heritage as a valuable resource for tourism and local education. The day ended with a general appreciation for the history and architectural beauty that Herencia has to offer, solidifying the Route of the Courtyards as an essential attraction in the city’s cultural calendar.
