“Vacaciones en Paz” is a project that invites families to open their homes and hearts to Sahrawi children during the summer months. This program, which does not involve adoption, provides a special and enriching experience for both host families and the children and their families in the Sahrawi region.
In addition to being a unique opportunity for communal living, “Vacaciones en Paz” is also a political and social awareness program. This project is organized and coordinated by the Ministry of Youth of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, the Delegations of the Polisario Front in the various autonomous communities of Spain, and associations and NGOs in solidarity with the Sahrawi people.
How can you participate in the program? The steps are simple and the process is not long or complicated:
1. Contact: Get in touch with the Association of Friends of the Sahrawi People “El Vali”. Its members will help you in the hosting process.
2. Information: Members of the association will provide you with all the necessary information and answer any questions you may have about the program.
3. Documentation: You will need to present your ID, a certificate of sexual offenses, and a commitment to hosting.
4. Waiting time: After completing the paperwork, you will have a waiting period until the child arrives. It will be a moment of nerves and uncertainty, but also of anticipation and joy. Enjoy this time and do not stress.
This summer of 2023 promises to be an unforgettable one for host families and Sahrawi children participating in the “Vacaciones en Paz” program. Through this project, lasting bonds are formed, and solidarity and mutual understanding are encouraged.
