Castilla-La Mancha awards the drafting of the project for a new Health Center in Herencia.

The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has awarded GILNAGEL ARQUITECTOS, S.L.P. the drafting of the project for the new Health Center in Herencia, Ciudad Real. The contract, valued at 200,860 euros (including VAT), includes the drafting of the basic and execution project, as well as the technical direction and coordination of health and safety.

The Health Minister, Jesús Fernández Sanz, highlighted that this step is definitive to solve the space problems in the current center, which has become too small due to the increase in services, such as the recent addition of a doctor and a nurse.

The new health center will be located on a plot of over 3,600 square meters on Gómez Montalbán street, provided by the Herencia City Council to SESCAM. The Functional Plan of SESCAM states that the center will have five Family and Community Medicine consulting rooms, five Nursing rooms, two dressing rooms, a waiting room, and toilets.

In addition, there will be a Pediatric Care area with a medical consultation, a nursing consultation, a waiting room, and children’s toilets. It will also include a midwife consultation and a room for childbirth preparation.

The center will offer Continuous Care and an Emergency area with patient reception, family area, Continuous Care consultation, emergency room, waiting room, toilets, and storage. It will also have accommodation for on-call staff and changing rooms.

The new building will also have a patient reception, admission and appointment unit, Rehabilitation area with consultation, waiting room, and treatment booths for Therapy. There will be a Dentistry consultation and spaces for support units, such as a social worker, as well as a Leadership and Teaching area.

The Basic Health Zone of Herencia, part of the Integrated Care Management of Alcázar de San Juan, serves 8,454 health cards. The Primary Care team consists of five Family doctors, one pediatrician, six nurses, two administrative assistants, a physiotherapist, a dentist, a dental hygienist, a midwife, and a social worker.

This new health infrastructure promises to significantly improve the quality of medical services in Herencia, better adapting to the growing needs of its population.
