Comsermancha approves the tariff update for 2024 with the UTE in charge of waste management.

The Services Commonwealth Comsermancha has made significant progress in reducing the debt that some municipalities have with the entity. President Rosa Melchor announced this progress during the April plenary session. In this session, all agenda items were unanimously approved, including the revision of the rates for waste collection, transport, and treatment for the year 2024, as well as other services provided by the UTE in charge of the service, adjusted to the increase in the IPC.

Melchor emphasized the importance of regularly informing about the economic evolution in plenary sessions to encourage the commitment of all municipalities to the Commonwealth. In this sense, she mentioned that the total debt decreased by 174,411 euros in the last month and thanked the efforts of the municipalities in reviewing their tax regulations, which some have recently done and others will do soon, contributing to maintaining the necessary economic resources for the functioning of the Commonwealth.

In another point of the session, the auction of recovered materials at the treatment plant was approved for the second quarter of the year, expecting to raise a total of 86,600 euros, mainly from paper-cardboard, PET, HDPE, rigid HDPE, beverage cartons, steel, and aluminum. Additionally, the update of the rates for the year 2024 with the UTE was approved, with a 3.1% increase according to the IPC, resulting in an approximate total cost for the service provision close to ten million euros.

Furthermore, the topic of contracts was discussed, and the award of the printing and photocopying service provision for the Commonwealth was approved.

Finally, the president informed about the presentation to Next Generation funds of a project to improve the bulky waste plant related to investments for the installation of collection, transport, classification, and improvement of facilities for the treatment of Urban Waste from the Commonwealth’s Clean Points Network, with an amount close to one million euros.
