The Independent Trade Union and Officials’ Union (CSIF) opened a new headquarters in Tomelloso yesterday with the aim of becoming a point of reference and meeting place for workers in the town and nearby municipalities. The new office, located at number 8 Doña Crisanta Street, very close to Plaza de España, strengthens the union’s presence in the region and expands its services to towns such as Argamasilla de Alba, Alcázar de San Juan, Campo de Criptana, Herencia, La Solana, Socuéllamos, and Pedro Muñoz.
During the inauguration, attended by numerous members and local representatives, Lorenzo Domínguez, president of CSIF Castilla-La Mancha, emphasized the key role that the Trade Union plays in both the public and private sectors. “We are the largest public sector union in the region, but we are also growing significantly in the private sector. This is because we offer a new way of doing trade unionism: with independence, integrity, transparency, and closeness,” stated Dominguez.
A meeting point to address doubts and improve working conditions
Cristina Donate, president of CSIF Ciudad Real, highlighted the importance of this new space as a place where workers can find support and solutions to their labor issues. “We want this headquarters to be a meeting point and reference, where employees can address their doubts and feel supported. Our goal is to improve the working and salary conditions of society as a whole, both in the public and private sectors,” declared Donate.
The Mayor of Tomelloso, Javier Navarro, was also present at the event, accompanied by the Councilor for Education Services, Antonio Calvo. Navarro praised CSIF for reopening a headquarters in the town, recalling the excellent work done in previous stages and emphasizing the importance of maintaining a fluid dialogue between political institutions and trade unions to ensure the well-being of workers.
Union services for members
The new CSIF headquarters in Tomelloso will offer a wide range of services for its members, including labor advice, legal services, training and preparation for public employment exams, courses, workshops, occupational health, and social action. In this way, the Trade Union continues its work of supporting and defending the rights of workers, establishing itself as a union reference in the region.
With this new headquarters, CSIF reinforces its presence in Ciudad Real and reaffirms its commitment to continue working for the improvement of working conditions for all workers, with special attention to the needs of small towns and their residents.
