The First Professional Experience Program in Public Administration successfully concluded a few weeks ago. This project, framed within the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, has been financed by the European Union through the Next Generation funds, with an amount of €149,841.62.
Over a period of 12 months, five talented young individuals from Herencia and the province, three of whom are women and two men, had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the working world for the first time. All of them, with diverse backgrounds ranging from degrees in Law, Economics, or Business Administration, to degrees in Audiovisual Communication and Tourism, have been vital parts of various departments in the Town Hall. Each one has been carefully mentored by technicians and municipal workers, enhancing their experience and learning. The work blocks in which they have participated are categorized into Green Employment, Digital Employment, and General Employment.
This program not only provides a first job contract for recent graduates, but also focuses on acquiring professional and social competencies and skills. These skills are essential for a smooth transition into the job market and are often the ones that pose the greatest challenges for recent graduates.
The mayor of Herencia, Sergio García-Navas, has expressed his satisfaction with respect to this initiative. According to him, the program has fulfilled a dual mission: on one hand, giving these young individuals an initial boost in their professional careers, and on the other hand, allowing the Herencia Town Hall to improve and expand its services for the benefit of the community. Thanks to these hires, a renewed and more dynamic image of the locality of Herencia has been projected. Undoubtedly, it is a step forward towards a more promising and sustainable future for the young people of the region.
