Herencia, known for its exquisite tradition in cheese production, joins the global celebration with a unique experience for cheese lovers in the community. International Cheese Day will be commemorated this year with a special activity dedicated to those over 60 years old, a guided tour of the “Quhesalia” Interpretation Center, the heart of cheese culture in the town.
The event will take place on Wednesday, March 27 at 11:00 in the morning. For a symbolic price of 2 euros, participants will have the opportunity not only to explore the premises and learn about the cheese making process, but also to delight their taste buds with a cheese tasting, allowing them to appreciate the variety and richness of flavors offered by the region.
Registrations have been open since March 15 starting at 9:00 am at the Senior Center. Given the relevance of cheese in Herencia and the limited number of spaces available, it is expected that the activity will generate great interest among seniors, who will be able to enjoy a day of culture, gastronomy, and socializing.
This visit is not only an opportunity to celebrate a beloved local product, but also a way to recognize and honor the traditions and culinary heritage of Herencia. The City Council, in its continuous effort to promote cultural and gastronomic activities, invites all seniors to sign up and be part of this sensory and educational experience.
