Herencia is preparing a security device for the Pilgrimages of San Isidro and Virgen de la Cabeza.

With the aim of ensuring safety and enjoyment during the upcoming Romerías of San Isidro and Virgen de la Cabeza, which will be celebrated on the weekends of May 18 and 25 respectively, the mayor of Herencia, Sergio García-Navas, has coordinated a key meeting with the security forces. In this meeting, which has been attended by the sergeant of the Civil Guard, Javier Cárceles, and the chief of the Local Police, Luis Díaz-Flores, the plans for special security devices that will accompany both events have been detailed.

During these festivities, which will coincide with the ‘Weekend Fest’, high attendance numbers are expected thanks to the variety of children’s activities and cultural concerts scheduled. In order to efficiently handle the large number of attendees, several parking spaces have been designated and traffic will be restricted in areas of high pedestrian traffic.

An important element in this year’s organization is the firm commitment of the City Council to offer festivities free of sexist aggressions. “In Herencia, we work to celebrate these events in a safe and respectful environment for everyone,” stated the mayor, pointing out that informative posters have been placed to guide and assist anyone who may need help in situations of harassment.

In parallel, and continuing with the practice of previous editions, a unified medical post operated by Civil Protection and the Red Cross will be set up at Casa de la Pedriza to quickly attend to any emergencies that may arise. Additionally, to facilitate safe access and return, a free bus service will be provided from the station to La Pedriza, available from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Herencia is getting ready to experience two of its most emblematic festivities in the ‘Pozos del Agua’, promising an unforgettable experience of community communion, safety, and outdoor fun.
