A few days ago, the town of Herencia was filled with enthusiasm and preparations for its highly anticipated Carnival. In a recent meeting, the Carnival Commission, attended by Mayor Sergio García-Navas, Councilor of Culture Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana, and several representatives from associations, Parent-Teacher Associations (AMPAS), and entertainment groups, outlined the guidelines for the upcoming Carnival, which will be held from February 3rd to 14th.
One of the most noteworthy decisions made during this session was the approval of the rules for the selection of the representative poster for this edition of the Carnival. This is an opportunity open to all artists interested in capturing the essence and spirit of Herencia’s Carnival, promoting its rich culture and tradition. The purpose is for this poster to become a symbol that attracts both locals and visitors, and as Councilor Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana pointed out, “the showcase that represents this National Tourist Interest Festival beyond our borders.”
Artists have until November 24th to submit their proposals, which will then be exhibited in the courtyard of the Town Hall for everyone to admire. The excitement will reach its peak on Friday, December 1st, the day when the winning poster will be announced, and the winner will receive a prize of 600 euros.
But this is just the beginning. The Town Hall and the Carnival Commission are tirelessly working and, in the coming weeks, they will publish the rules for the Perlés de Honor, in an effort to further enhance this festivity. Undoubtedly, for more than 12 days, Carnival will flood the streets of Herencia with joy, light, and color, reaffirming the identity and splendor of the town.
