In English: Herencia has officially launched the 2025 Carnival Poster Contest, a competition that, in this year’s edition, presents important innovations in both the participation process and the prize amount, which amounts to 750 euros. This event, which celebrates and promotes artistic creativity, is part of the preparations for the Herencia Carnival, one of the most emblematic festivals in the town, which will take place from February 22 to March 5, 2025.
Those interested in participating will have until December 2, 2024 to submit their proposals. The posters can be created in any artistic technique, such as photographic composition, painting, or digital design, as long as the work is original and unpublished. The contest rules clearly stipulate that works created entirely by Artificial Intelligence or suspected of plagiarism will not be accepted. In addition, the works should capture the essence and spirit of the carnival that characterizes the town of Herencia.
One of the main novelties of this edition is the method of presenting proposals, which this year will be carried out exclusively through the digital platform AYMO. This tool facilitates the management and submission of works, allowing participants to upload their works in digital format quickly and easily.
The jury’s decision, composed of a Technical Committee appointed by the Town Hall, will be announced on December 13, 2024. If more than 25 proposals are submitted, a preselection will be carried out to choose the finalist works. The selected posters will be exhibited at the Herencia Town Hall between February 6 and 15, 2025, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy the creativity and originality of the participants.
The Councilor for Culture, Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana, has emphasized the importance of this contest in promoting artistic talent and enhancing a festival that has been declared of National Tourist Interest. “We want to promote this contest at a national level and attract artists of great renown to raise the quality of the works presented. This event is not only a celebration of art, but also an opportunity to strengthen the cultural impact of the Herencia Carnival.”
With this call, Herencia continues to establish itself as a benchmark in the organization of cultural events that promote citizen participation and artistic recognition, framed within one of the most beloved and anticipated celebrations in the region.
