On Friday, May 12th, Herencia joins in the commemoration of World Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Day by lighting its iconic seven windmills in purple. This gesture aims to raise awareness about these diseases, which affect between 3% and 6% of the world’s population.
Fibromyalgia is a rheumatic disease characterized by widespread pain in the musculoskeletal system and persistent fatigue. Despite its prevalence, it often goes unnoticed or is misunderstood, leading to difficulties in diagnosis and treatment.
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, on the other hand, is a complex disease characterized by extreme fatigue that cannot be explained by any underlying medical condition. Fatigue worsens with physical or mental activity, but does not improve with rest.
Both diseases can have a significant impact on the quality of life of affected individuals, making it essential to increase public awareness and encourage research and development of effective treatments.
