The courtyard of the Town Hall of Herencia was the setting of an emotional official reception organized by the mayor Sergio García-Navas to honor local athletes who have excelled in their respective sports, achieving championships in the past weeks.
At the event, García-Navas congratulated the young athletes for their achievements and thanked them for representing Herencia in provincial and regional competitions. “It is a pride for our town to have such talented and dedicated athletes. Their successes are a reflection of effort and constant work,” said the mayor.

The mayor was accompanied by Serafín Tajuelo, Sports Councilor; Ermine Petrosyan, rhythmic gymnastics monitor in the Municipal Sports Schools; Pedro Rodríguez, president of the town’s Handball club; as well as by the members of the government team, Conchi Rodriguez-Palancas, Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana, and José Manuel Aragonés.
During the event, Serafín Tajuelo emphasized the importance of sports in shaping values such as discipline, effort, and teamwork, and encouraged the young athletes to continue training with the same dedication. Ermine Petrosyan and Pedro Rodríguez congratulated their students on their achievements and highlighted the value of teamwork.
The celebration concluded with the presentation of commemorative plaques and a basket of local fruits and vegetables for each of the awardees, as a symbol of the community’s support for their athletes.
The reception was not only a recognition of sporting achievements, but also a demonstration of the Town Hall of Herencia’s commitment to promoting sports and healthy living among its citizens.
