The mayor of Herencia, Sergio García-Navas, accompanied by the municipal architect, Dori Gallego, and representatives of the company awarded the construction works, OPMJ, visited this week the actions in the roundabout that connects the first phase of the Industrial Estate with its new extension. The works, which aim to improve traffic flow at this important intersection, are progressing well and are in the midst of transformation.
A more functional and safe roundabout
The project involves converting the roundabout into a completely circular one, which will facilitate the transit of large vehicles and improve communication between the two areas of the Industrial Estate. During the visit, the authorities checked the progress in the placement of curbs, a key stage of the closure of the new structure.
The transformation will include a central green area, which will provide an aesthetic touch to the industrial environment, and the installation of four new lighting points distributed along the perimeter, replacing the current central lamppost. In addition, new signage will be installed to optimize traffic reordering and ensure road safety at this busy point.
Positive impact on traffic and connectivity
The restructuring of this roundabout aims to respond to the demands of users of the Industrial Estate, who have pointed out the current difficulties for the smooth passage of large vehicles, such as trucks and heavy machinery. Upon completion of the works, a notable improvement in connectivity between the two industrial areas is expected, which, in turn, will favor economic activity and the operation of companies operating in the area.

From the City Council, the mayor has requested understanding and patience from drivers and regular users of this road. The works, although necessary, may cause some temporary inconvenience. Therefore, caution is advised when driving in the area, and it is reminded that these works will contribute to a safer and more functional infrastructure for all.
