As part of the celebration of Rural Women’s Day, this past Saturday the 14th, the Casa de la Mujer de Herencia organized a cultural excursion to the nearby town of Tomelloso.
The itinerary began with a visit to the prestigious Verum winery. Attendees had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of wine, touring the facilities and culminating with a special wine tasting, which took place in one of their historic caves. The experience allowed the group to discover and taste the characteristic flavors and aromas of the wines from this emblematic winery in the region.
To guide and accompany the visitors on this tour, Mª Eugenia Diaz Pacheco, councilwoman for rural development, and Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana, councilor for equality, were present. Both councilors highlighted the importance of these types of activities, which promote the recognition and valuation of the role of women in rural areas.
But the trip did not end there. The day continued with a visit to the Antonio López Museum, a renowned realist painter from the 20th century and native of Tomelloso. His artistic legacy, reflected in his works, allowed the attendees to delve into the rich culture and traditions of the town.
This excursion represented not only an opportunity to commemorate Rural Women’s Day, but also to share experiences, strengthen community ties, and deepen knowledge of the cultural and productive roots of the region. An enriching day that will undoubtedly remain in the memory of all participants.
