The Diocese of Ciudad Real has announced that the twenty-fifth edition of the Advent March will be held this year in the municipality of Herencia on November 30th. This event, which has become a tradition for the youth of the diocese, is organized by the Youth Pastoral Delegation and aims to promote spiritual reflection and community interaction among young people.
Under the theme “At least, love me”, this year’s march commemorates the 350 years since the apparitions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. According to the organizers, this theme aims to invite young people to delve into the mystery of God’s love, who became flesh and a merciful heart for humanity.
The activity is aimed at young people aged 16 to 35 and will take place during a full day, with a varied program that includes prayer, talks, workshops, and moments of personal and group reflection.
The day will begin with the welcoming of participants at 10:00 am at the location known as “la Copa del Agua”. After a brief prayer at 10:30, the attendees will start the march towards the center of Herencia, where various activities will take place throughout the day.
One of the key moments will be the talk at 12:00 pm, in which Álvaro Quesada and Carla Restoy will share their reflections on faith and Christian life. At noon, the young people will enjoy a communal meal, for which they must bring their own food, while dinner will be provided by the local parish.
The afternoon will be marked by workshops organized at different points in the municipality, where participants can learn, share, and deepen their faith through dynamics and group activities. The day will end with a vigil at 10:30 pm, where there will be a space for prayer and reflection, followed by a hot chocolate farewell.
Young people who wish to participate must register through an online form and pay a fee of 10 euros. Payment can be made through Bizum or bank transfer, uploading the proof of payment to the registration form.
To facilitate access, a bus parking area has been arranged near the starting point of the march, allowing groups arriving by bus to comfortably move around.
The Advent March is an opportunity for young people to delve into spirituality and share a day of interaction and reflection in a close and participatory atmosphere. Herencia is preparing to host this event that, year after year, reinforces the commitment of the Diocese of Ciudad Real to youth pastoral care.
