News for a sample of National Tourist Interest

Herencia is gearing up for its most emblematic party, the Carnival, declared of National Tourist Interest, and especially for the Ofertorio Parade, which will take place next Tuesday, March 4, 2025. This Wednesday, the Carnival Commission approved the guidelines for participating in the parade, which this year come with important innovations aimed at improving the organization and the experience for both participants and the public.

New features in the 2025 edition include:

– Limitation of spaces: The number of participants will be regulated based on categories, in order to guarantee a dynamic and attractive parade.
– Order of previous year’s winners: The winning groups from the previous edition will parade at the end of their category.
– Commitment to participation: Floats and groups that register must ensure their presence in the parade unless for a justified reason.

These measures aim to optimize the experience, highlighting the work of the participating associations and groups. “We want to take care of every detail so that both participants and the public can enjoy an entertaining and spectacular parade,” explained the councilor of Culture, Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana.

An event with great recognition, the Ofertorio Parade, celebrated on the main day of the Carnival of Herencia, brings together over 3,000 people each year including participants and organizers, solidifying itself as one of the most outstanding events in the region. In the previous edition, the parade featured the participation of 31 groups and awarded over 25,000 euros in prizes across different categories.

The top prize of the parade is the prestigious Special Perlé 2025 Award, given to the best national display, with a prize of 3,100 euros. Additionally, the event includes prizes for special and local floats, comparsas, chirigotas, murgas, and other entertainment groups, all evaluated by a professional jury.

The parade includes five categories:

1. Floats: Judged on setup, overall effect, and creativity.
2. Comparsas, chirigotas, and peñas: With local and national categories.
3. Murgas, charangas, and rondallas: Musical groups with thematic costumes.

Prizes range from 3,100 euros for the Perlé award to 400 euros for other minor categories, with additional awards to encourage the participation of all groups.

Registrations are now open at the Casa de Cultura until spaces are filled. It is necessary to provide identifying and bank details of each participating group. The pre-parade gathering will take place at 3:00 PM on March 4 on Avenida de la Labradora.

Herencia hopes to exceed record participation and viewership this year, reaffirming its position as a reference for Carnival in Castilla-La Mancha. With the Ofertorio Parade as the central focus, the town is preparing to offer an unforgettable experience to residents and visitors.
