The Hermógenes Rodríguez Institute in Herencia has demonstrated its skill in robotics, winning the competition in two of the three categories at the University of Castilla-La Mancha’s Robotics Competition on June 13th.
The competition, held at the University’s Paraninfo in the Cuenca Campus, featured the Robotics teams from IES Hermógenes Rodríguez, guided by their teachers Javier Talavera and José Román Fernández-Baíllo. The event, which had a large online audience through the UCLM channel, saw the team from Herencia dominate in the “Trackers” and “Industrial Automation” categories.
Hermógenes Rodríguez not only demonstrated their skill but also their tenacity, earning the title of champions of Castilla-La Mancha in both competitions. The competition was fierce, with half a thousand students from thirty-six high schools and secondary schools in the region competing in the local phases in Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, and Albacete.
The notable victories were a testament to the hard work and dedication that the students and their teachers have put in throughout the year. They return to Herencia with gifts and great satisfaction for the reward of their efforts.
While Hermógenes Rodríguez celebrated their success, PVIPS CEDES from Albacete also had their moment of glory, winning in the third category, “LEGO Sumo Robots.”
The Robotics Competition, jointly organized by the School of Industrial and Aerospace Engineering in Toledo, the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering in Albacete, and the Higher School of Industrial Engineering in Ciudad Real, was inaugurated by the Rector, Julián Garde.
