The municipality of Herencia is in the process of improving its rural roads, thanks to a new Maintenance and Repair Plan that has recently been implemented. This initiative is the result of collaboration between the Herencia City Council and the Comsermancha Consortium, the latter being responsible for providing the essential machinery for these reforms.
More than 17 kilometers of roads are being intervened in the framework of this project. Several of these roads, essential for communication and transportation in the region, have received special attention due to their high traffic, including the Catalanas, Caña Calero, Cuesta del Arca, Casa Juan Ramón, and the road connecting Villafranca de los Caballeros with Puerto Lápice.
These improvements were made in response to the demands of numerous users who reported difficulties in the transitability of certain sections, especially after the intense storms recorded in September, which left several areas impassable.
Mª Eugenia Díaz-Pacheco, Councilor for Rural Development, emphasized the importance of these actions that have made it possible to level the roads, ensuring safe transit for agricultural vehicles. This aspect is crucial as it enables farmers to access their land and farms without risks.
Díaz-Pacheco, along with Mayor Sergio García-Navas and the rural guard, personally supervised the work in the last two weeks. The councilor expressed her satisfaction with the results obtained and called on farmers and users in general to make appropriate use of the restored roads. She also requested that, as far as possible, they take care of and respect the integrity of the roadways.
From the Department of Rural Development, in constant collaboration with the Rural Guard, they remain alert to the needs of the roads and work tirelessly to ensure their accessibility, responding to the community’s requests as quickly as possible. This series of interventions reflects the municipality’s commitment to maintaining and improving the road infrastructure of Herencia, always thinking about the well-being and safety of its residents.
