Solidarity and magic for all ages

Herencia is preparing to live one of the most special Christmases with a wide program that includes more than 16 activities designed for the whole family. This year, the City Council is committed to solidarity, allocating the funds raised from ticketed events to those affected by the DANA, while filling its streets with light, culture, and magic.

A December full of activities

The program will start on Tuesday, December 3 with the school session dedicated to the 46th anniversary of the Spanish Constitution, in which 5th grade students will participate. On Wednesday 4, the Coral Santa Cecilia Criptanense will offer an emotional sung mass in the Parish.

On December 6, a national holiday, will be a day full of activities. In the Ayuntamiento courtyard, there will be an institutional event with the awarding of scholarships to the best academic records of 2nd year of Bachelor. In addition, in the Plaza de España, there will be an artisan market and the artistic Christmas lighting will be switched on, accompanied by a solidarity hot chocolate and dance performances.

Music, theater, and magic at the Municipal Auditorium

The Municipal Auditorium will be the main stage for cultural activities this Christmas. Among the highlighted events are:

  • Charity concert “Music for the DANA” (Saturday, December 14) with the participation of local artists such as Onda Pirata, Venus Astra, and Los Cameleones.
  • XXXIII Provincial Theater Showcase (Sunday, December 15) with the play Mónico Sánchez or how to light up a dream, by La Cantera Producciones.
  • Magic show by Carlos Rubio (Saturday, December 21), titled Be deceived.
  • Christmas concert by the Municipal School of Music Gabriel Molina Prados (Friday, December 20).
  • Concert by the Musical Group Santa Cecilia (Saturday, January 4).

Magic for the little ones

The excitement of the little ones will be the main focus with activities such as Magichristmas “The Home of the Star”, organized by the Scout Group “La Inmaculada”, where there will be Christmas workshops and the long-awaited visit from Santa Claus. In addition, the Three Wise Men will visit the educational centers on Wednesday, December 18, and their official arrival will be preceded by the visit of the Royal Herald and will culminate with the traditional Three Kings Parade on Sunday, January 5.

More lights and new attractions

The Agustín Úbeda Exhibition Hall will be another central point with workshops and children’s activities, as well as becoming the home of Santa Claus this season. As a novelty, the Councilor for Culture, Aitor Gallego de la Sacristana, has announced an expansion in the Christmas lighting, aiming to enhance the town’s tourist attraction. “Our goal is for Herencia to shine as a must-visit destination at Christmas, while supporting a charitable cause,” said the councilor.

All proceeds from ticketed activities will go to those affected by the DANA, reaffirming the charitable spirit of this program. Christmas in Herencia will be an opportunity to enjoy with family, celebrate culture, and collaborate with those in need.
