The sports atmosphere in Herencia continues to thrive. As we announced a few days ago, the town was the scene of an exciting triangular beach handball tournament on Saturday, August 19, in which the teams from Castilla La Mancha, Castilla y León, and the Community of Madrid competed in various categories, showcasing a high level of competition.
This event, which featured highly competitive teams, reaffirms Herencia’s commitment to sports and, in particular, to handball, establishing itself as a must-see event on the regional sports calendar.
In addition to the excitement and adrenaline of the matches, one of the highlights of the day was the awards ceremony for the participating teams. Sergio García-Navas, Mayor of Herencia, was present, along with Serafín Tajuelo, Sports Councilor, José Manuel Bolaños Viso, another councilor of the Herencia City Council, and Pedro Rodríguez, president of the local club. They all took part in honoring the teams, a gesture that demonstrates the close relationship between local institutions and the sports world.
Fans and residents of Herencia were able to enjoy a day filled with action, effort, and passion for handball. The organization of the event, combined with the support of local authorities, suggests that this triangular tournament may have future editions, becoming a sports tradition in the town.
