The City Council of Herencia, in Ciudad Real, has announced the 16th National Rapid Painting Contest “Villa de Herencia”, which will take place on September 16, 2023. The competition is open to all Spanish and foreign artists.
The contest aims to highlight the beauty of Herencia and its landscapes through painting. Participants can use the technique of their choice, with a minimum size for the artworks of 50×70 cm. The competition will take place outdoors.
Registrations and additional information will be handled on the same day of the contest, at the “Agustín Úbeda” Exhibition Hall in the Municipal Park, from 09:00 to 10:00 hours. The canvases must be presented in white and must not have been used previously. The sealing and numbering of the artworks will also be done at the Exhibition Hall during the mentioned hours.
The Contest will conclude at 16:00 hours on the same day with an exhibition of the artworks at the Municipal Auditorium, located in the Municipal Park. The jury’s decision will be made at the same time, followed by the award ceremony. Each artist will display their artwork on their easel along with their identification number.
Those artists whose artworks are not awarded will have the opportunity to sell their pieces during the event. It is worth noting that once the painting is delivered and the prizes are awarded by the jury, the winning artworks will remain in the possession of the sponsoring entities.

4. Traza2, Arquitectura y Urbanismo: 4th Prize of 375 euros.
5. Prefadhor (Tubyder S.L.): 5th Prize of 350 euros.
6. Papelería Kalko’s: 6th Prize of 350 euros.
7. Harinas Palmero S.L.: 7th Prize of 350 euros.

Herencia invites all artists to participate in this contest, whose rules are fully accepted by the participants, as well as any possible modifications they may undergo.
