On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 28, the Herencia City Council carried out the lottery to designate the members of the electoral boards for the upcoming General Courts elections, which will take place on July 23, 2023.
The lottery procedure was carried out through a system of random allocation among the registered citizens in Herencia, thus guaranteeing equality and representation for all inhabitants of the municipality.
Regarding the post-lottery process, the notification period for the appointments will be extended until July 1. Before this day, the selected citizens will receive the official notification at their homes, which will be accompanied by the Instruction Manual for Members of the Electoral Boards.
Regarding appeals, citizens who have been designated as members of the electoral boards will have a period of seven days to submit possible appeals to the corresponding Local Electoral Board. To do this, they must have a justified and duly documented cause that prevents them from performing such a role.
The appeals submitted will be evaluated by the Local Electoral Board, which will be responsible for accepting or rejecting them after taking into consideration the personal, family, and professional reasons that the Central Electoral Board has established as valid for not being part of the Electoral Boards.
This lottery is another step towards the 2023 General Courts elections, guaranteeing citizen participation in the electoral process and the proper functioning of the boards on the day of the vote.
