This past weekend marked the end of the Quijote’s Handball Cup 2024, the fourteenth edition of the Handball Tournament in the town of Herencia. The event was a resounding success, with over 500 players participating and their families attending, filling the streets of the municipality with color and a lively atmosphere for four days.
Gratitude to Participants and Volunteers
First and foremost, thanks go out to all the participants and their families, who contributed to creating a festive and lively atmosphere. The organizers hope that all visitors will take fond memories of Herencia with them.
The effort and dedication of the coaches and volunteers from the Sports Schools and the club were essential for the successful development of the tournament. Their work before and during the event, along with the efforts of the members of the board of SMD CBM Quijote Herencia, were vital to ensuring the smooth running of the tournament.
Safety and Entertainment
The presence of Civil Protection, Red Cross, and Local Police was crucial in ensuring the safety of all participants. Additionally, carnival groups livened up the Friday night parade, adding a festive touch to the event.
Thanks also go out to the educational institutions and other local groups that offered their facilities to accommodate the participating teams.
Essential Collaborations
The event would not have been possible without the collaboration of the Provincial Delegation of Youth and Sports and the Regional Handball Federation, who once again played key roles in the success of the tournament.
Acknowledgment of Collaborators
It is essential to recognize the help of all the collaborators, many of them parents of the students from the Schools, who worked tirelessly on tasks leading up to the tournament and during its development. Their work on the court, distributing water, and other logistical tasks was vital to ensure that participants lacked nothing during these four days of competition.
Trophy Presentation
The trophy presentation was attended by Sergio García-Navas, Mayor of the town; Jose Manuel Bolaños, Provincial Deputy and Councilor of the City Council; Jose Manuel Aragonés, Councilor of the City Council; and Pedro Rodríguez, President of SMD CBM Quijote Herencia, along with the rest of the club’s board and the coaches of the Sports Schools. Congratulations to all the winners!
