The stability and commitment mark the first year of legislature in Herencia.

The mayor of Herencia, Sergio García-Navas, along with some members of his government team, conducted a review of the first year of his third term in a meeting with the media held in the municipal park. During the event, García-Navas highlighted the ongoing projects and those that will be developed in the coming months, always with the goal of consolidating Herencia as an ideal municipality to live in.

Ongoing Projects and Future Developments

The mayor emphasized that the achievements in the coming years will be possible thanks to the stability provided by the absolute majority, facilitating agility in management and allowing a clear commitment to a roadmap that prioritizes equality and respect. “We are always at the service of the residents, associations, and businesses of the municipality,” García-Navas stated.

Transformation of the Casa de los Frailes and Infrastructure Improvements

Recently, the works of the first phase of the transformation project of Casa de los Frailes into a Guesthouse began, funded with a grant of €750,000 from the Provincial Council. Additionally, a project to repair the road connecting Herencia with Villarta de San Juan has been finalized, with an investment of €3 million, which will significantly improve communication, tourism, and economic development.

New Health Center

One of the most important projects of this term will be the construction of a new Health Center in the neighborhood of El Cristo, in response to the increase in health cards and the addition of new medical staff. The current Health Center will be converted into a new Municipal Library, adapted to current services and needs.

Expansion of the Industrial Estate

The mayor also highlighted efforts in economic promotion, with a special emphasis on the expansion of the Industrial Estate. Currently, 77% of the second expansion is already allocated, and efforts are being made to address the energy bottleneck and undertake a third expansion. A new road will be built to connect the Industrial Estate to the road to Villafranca, improving communication and easing traffic in the center of the municipality.

Expansion of Resources and Services

The government team remains committed to expanding services, such as the Corresponsables Plan to facilitate family reconciliation during holiday periods and the expansion of Sports Schools. Additionally, a new headquarters will be built for the Carnival Associations, and a new Youth Advisory Service will be launched in September.

ViVher Festival

This Friday will mark the start of a new edition of the ViVher music and arts festival, which will not only feature regional and national artists but also serve as a showcase for local artists. This event revitalizes both the cultural sector and the hospitality and tourism industry in Herencia.
