This Friday from 9:00 pm onwards, the Summer Auditorium will host, once again, the Sports Night, an event that highlights the diversity and quality of sports disciplines and events that take place in the municipality. This edition will feature the stellar participation of Luis Pasamontes, former professional cyclist and current mentor of professional athletes.
This gala is held every year to reward the efforts of over 600 athletes enrolled in the Sports Schools, in the 10 sports disciplines that are practiced each year. They will receive recognition for their participation in the 2023/2024 season. Additionally, this event will honor the efforts and trajectories of the best athletes, entities that have made a difference, or companies that have supported grassroots sports.
Recently, an extraordinary session of the Local Council of Sports and Physical Activity was held to select the winners among the proposals submitted for this edition. The winners were announced this week. Mario Gallego de la Sacristana Fernández-Caballero will receive the award for Individual Athlete, Herencia CF and SMD BM Quijote Herencia Infantil Femenino will be awarded for Collective Sport, Paula Moya Iniesta will be recognized for her Sports Career, Tubyder Prefadhor S.L. will receive the Award for Supporting Sports, Pedro Rodríguez de Tembleque Tajuelo for his sports values, Victor Gallego de la Sacristana Díaz-Flores will receive the award for Inclusion, and José Juan Díaz-Meco González-Román will receive a Special Sports Mention.
The Sports Councillor, Serafín Tajuelo Díaz-Pavón, emphasized “the evolution experienced in recent decades within the Sports Schools, adapting to the demands and preferences of its participants, and making Herencia a healthier municipality, as sports practice in our town is currently thriving. Therefore, we look forward to seeing you all at this unmissable event,” concluded the responsible party.
