This morning, the Herencia Youth Center hosted the “Imaginary Planet” collage workshop, an activity in which young artists created original compositions using recycled materials to imagine an unreal world. This event is part of the celebration of Earth Hour, a global initiative that seeks to raise awareness about the importance of caring for the environment and preserving natural resources.
The workshop, which was filled with fun, art, and an unbeatable atmosphere, allowed participants to mix these ingredients to obtain surprising and creative results. During the activity, the young people were able to experiment with different techniques and creative processes, learning to give a new use to recycled materials and to express their ideas in unique and sustainable works of art.
Mariam and Fran, from the Aerosol studio, were in charge of guiding the young people in this workshop, sharing their knowledge and teaching them different techniques for creating collages from recycled materials. Thanks to their experience and dedication, the participants were able to bring to life an “Imaginary Planet” where sustainability and creativity came together exceptionally.
Earth Hour, celebrated today around the world, is an initiative promoted by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) that invites people, companies, and governments to turn off their lights for one hour as a symbolic gesture of commitment to the fight against climate change and the protection of the environment. In addition to this symbolic act, Earth Hour includes numerous activities and events, such as the “Imaginary Planet” collage workshop, which seek to raise awareness among the population and encourage a change in attitude towards a more sustainable and respectful lifestyle for the environment.
The success of the “Imaginary Planet” workshop at the Herencia Youth Center demonstrates that through art and education, it is possible to generate environmental awareness in new generations and motivate young people to be agents of change in building a more sustainable and respectful future for our planet.
