The Youth Area of Herencia has announced the organization of the tenth edition of its popular Night Hiking Route, called “What does the moon fill with?” This initiative, which combines sports, nature, and solidarity, has managed to capture the attention of the local community in recent years.
To participate in the route, interested individuals must contribute €1, which will be used to support projects of the Association Friends of the Sahrawi People of Herencia, also known as Asoc El Uali. This solidarity effort aims to strengthen support for this cause, which works tirelessly to improve the living conditions of the Sahrawis.
The 10th Night Hiking Route will take place on Tuesday, August 1. Participants will gather in the Plaza de España, where they will receive solidarity race bibs before starting the route. From there, they will take a short walk through the streets of the town until they reach the San Cristóbal hermitage, the starting point of the ascent to the first windmill. The organizers recommend wearing appropriate footwear, bringing water, and, of course, a flashlight.
In addition, this year the event will have a special activity to add a touch of music and fun to the night. Moi, a member of the group Los Lunares de Herencia, will lead a percussion activity to connect participants with the most primal sounds. It is a perfect opportunity to discover what the moon is filled with while enjoying a playful and enriching experience under the night sky of Herencia.
