In a day marked by reflection and remembrance, the municipality of Herencia has joined in the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The institutional event, held on November 25th, has been a space of unanimous condemnation against gender-based violence and a call to action for its definitive eradication.
The mayor, along with several members of the Government team and representatives of the Herencia de Mujeres Association, have been present at this significant event. Together, they have given voice to the manifesto that rejects any form of gender violence and have shared a message of unconditional support for survivors.
In the educational field, creativity has become a vehicle for awareness with the awarding of prizes for the short story competition involving the schoolchildren of the municipality. Through their narratives, the younger generation has demonstrated their commitment to the construction of a violence-free society.
As is tradition, a silent march was held, an act of solidarity and respect that culminated in front of the Statue of the Abused Woman. This symbolic gesture has reaffirmed the collective rejection of gender-based violence and has reminded victims that they are not alone.
The day concluded with the theatrical performance “Segaremos Ortigas con los tacones” by Contrahecho Producciones. The play has offered an artistic and critical perspective that delves into the problem of gender-based violence, leaving the audience with a powerful reflection on equality and justice.
This series of activities reflects the strong social character of the policies of the Herencia Government team, which, with the support of its community, continues to work tirelessly to eliminate all forms of violence against women and move towards a truly egalitarian society.
