Herencia joins Sustainable Gastronomy with a Master Class led by Chef José Luis García Mascaraque.

The Department of Consumer Affairs of the City Council of Herencia is leading the battle against food waste with an educational and culinary event in honor of Sustainable Gastronomy Day. This initiative aims to raise awareness among citizens about their fundamental role in the efficient management of food and the impact that our daily actions have on household economy and the environment.

Recognizing that an alarming percentage of food ends up in the trash for various reasons, the Department advocates for the promotion of responsible practices such as consuming locally sourced products, making conscious purchases, and creatively reusing leftover food.

In line with these principles, renowned Chef Jose Luis García Mascaraque will offer a Master Class on circular gastronomy and the art of maximizing the use of food. This culinary event will take place on December 5th at the Olivo Mascaraque Restaurant in Herencia, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Mascaraque, known for his ability to transform humble ingredients into innovative and delicious dishes, will guide attendees through techniques to revitalize their pantries and enrich their eating habits.

For those interested in attending this gastronomic and educational experience, tickets will be available on the AYMO platform from 9:00 a.m. on November 30, 2023. This event promises to be a gathering of learning, creativity, and commitment to the sustainable future of our food.
